Business Development Manager

The Business Development Manager for Fiber Optic Products/Solutions, you will be at the forefront of our company’s expansion efforts. This role is pivotal in forging strong partnerships with customers, including original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), managing, and negotiating contracts effectively, and crafting strategic plans to seize new business opportunities in both the medical and industrial markets. A significant part of your responsibility will also involve refining our sales and business development process and strategies to boost operational efficiency and effectiveness, both internally and with our external partners. Additionally, you will play a key role in shaping the company’s market positioning through the development of compelling value propositions and engaging marketing materials, as well as representing the company at trade shows and industry events. This multifaceted position not only focuses on immediate business growth but also sets the stage for future leadership opportunities within the organization, emphasizing a path toward strategic influence and expansion across various segments.

Key Responsibilities

  • New Business Development – Seek out and secure new business opportunities in targeted medical and industrial sectors through strategic market analysis and industry insight.
  • Customer/OEM Relationship and Contract Management – Forge and sustain strong relationships with original equipment manufacturers, negotiate contracts, and ensure mutual satisfaction and profitability.
  • Strategic/Customer Account Planning – Develop and implement detailed account plans to increase revenue and market share.
  • Value Proposition and Marketing Material Development – Assist in crafting compelling value propositions and marketing materials to effectively communicate the benefits of our fiber optic solutions. Participate in trade shows and industry events to promote our products and services.
  • Process Optimization and Efficiency– Streamline sales and business development processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness, both internally and with external stakeholders.
  • Collaboration and Leadership – Collaborate with various teams within the organization to achieve business goals, offering leadership and strategic direction. Ready yourself for potential promotion into a sales leadership role, with responsibilities across new business segments or units.
  • Versatility and Adaptability – Undertake additional duties as required, demonstrating flexibility and a proactive approach to support the company’s evolving needs.

Qualifications/Experience/Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, Engineering, or related field
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in sales or business development, ideally within the fiber optic cable/solutions within medical and/or industrial end markets.
  • Proven track record of developing OEM relationships, negotiating contracts, and closing deals.
  • Excellent strategic planning and analytical skills, with a capacity to manage complex sales cycles and achieve sales targets.
  • Superior communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Leadership potential, with a readiness to inspire and lead teams towards achieving current and future business goals.
